Why I Wrote This Book

I wrote The Problem With Potential: How to Stop Overthinking and Get Out of Your Own Way because I saw a need that wasn’t being filled by school, workplaces, and the media.

In just seven years, I met more than 22,000 people going door to door, recruiting, and leading organizations in business and sales, and I saw a common theme threaded between the stories of nearly everyone I met including myself; We are our worst enemies and critics. My greatest strength is seeing the best in people. Not for who they are, but rather for who they can be, and whether I was recruiting and motivating students and inspiring families I met to help their kids get a better eduction or working with multi-million dollar busiensses, we all have problems we need to face. And if do that, we can reach our true potential. Meaning we can all add value to those around us and make the world a better place.

What’s stopping us? Ourselves. Overthinking. Negative beliefs. Limiting Beliefs. And in my book, I share with you the principles, stories, and studies that I have utilized to coach students and business owners to overcome many of their problems with potential so that they can reach their true potential. I know they work because I had to learn them the hard way, but after overcoming my problems with potential, I get to do what I love; inspiring others.

I, by no means, “have arrived” at any near state of perfection. In fact, I don’t believe in perfection. I will always have flaws, but I have journeyed along the growth curve, the common story that each of us has to navigate in order to be successful (see chapter 16 of my book). And I’d like to share everything I’ve learn with you in the hopes that I might make a positive impact on your life no matter how big or small.

I hope you enjoy the book. If you have any big ideas you want to dream about with me, shoot me an email at joe@joeignace.com.
